Located in San Jose, California, FC Bay Area may be a new name, but its developmental roots and history of player development run deep. The emergence of the club owes its heritage to players developed by Barcelona Bay Area, Liverpool LFC and the San Jose Earthquakes.
In this joint project, Barcelona Bay Area and Liverpool LFC (who currently host several of the top boys teams in U11-U19 age groups in NorCal) will combine top players to form super teams under the newly formed FC Bay Area to compete in the MLS Regional League and will continue to be a feeder system to the San Jose Earthquakes Academy for the boys. On the girls side the San Jose Earthquakes Girls teams will showcase in the new Girls Academy League.
Both Barcelona Bay Area and Liverpool have had rich history of producing top level boys and girls for many years in the Bay Area and have developed over 200+ players in the DA, ECNL and now MLS League platforms.
FC Bay Area is led by the vision of Technical Director Andrés Deza and staff who were awarded Staff of the Year by U.S. Soccer in back to back seasons 2018-2020, as well as the U15 U.S. Soccer National Champions as part of the San Jose Earthquakes Girls Development Academy. Recent Deza alums are also currently performing in top DI and Professional programs around the country.
